Wedding Venue Commission

In May 2025, I received a lovely message from one of my best customers, Kathryn, asking if I could draw a wedding venue as a gift for her friends who were getting married.

Of course, I said yes (I could never say no to one of my most loyal customers!) and got to work. Kathryn sent me several photos of the venue, Oakwood House in Maidstone, and together we agreed on the best angle. While the back of the building had a beautiful garden, the front façade was absolutely stunning. We decided I’d focus on the front view, but add a touch of extra greenery to make the colours really pop.

When the drawing was finished, Kathryn asked me to print two versions: one personalised with her friends’ names and wedding date, and another with her and her husband’s details - turns out they got married at the same venue too! A coincidence? I think not!

I printed both artworks and sent them off. Not long after, Kathryn messaged me to say how thrilled she was when they arrived. She promised her friends would love their copy, and she was already trying to decide on the perfect spot in her home for hers.
